

One very important part of your student experience will be where you choose to live during your time at PUIC. Below you will find some information regarding available accommodation and we would ask that you review these at your earliest convenience and let us know your preference by returning the form below to Student Support services well in advance of your arrival at PUIC.
Remember, accommodation will be allocated on a notification basis, so early return of the form will mean you are more likely to secure your choice.
Combestone House is the only accommodation managed by PUIC and room availability is limited so pre-booking is essential. Priority is given to those aged under 18 for this accommodation. Leases are available for one or two semesters. The central location and support resources in place at Combestone House allows PUIC to provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment while students become familiar with the new experiences of studying and living in Plymouth. The property requires entry codes to enter the front entrance and each flat which are restricted to resident students and support staff to ensure security.
Combestone House is located on 14a Hastings Street, Plymouth, PL1 5BA. To locate the property on a map, go to www.multimap.com and under the heading 'find a map' type the postal code in and select 'United Kingdom' for the country.
Combestone House comprises of between 2 and 6 bedrooms per flat with 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen to be shared. Wireless Internet is provided free of charge. Furniture in each bedroom includes a double bed, desk, bookshelf and drawers, clothes cupboard, curtains, carpets and heater. All service bills are included in the rent for Combestone House, so the student will not have to worry about paying for electricity, internet, and water.
Please note that students will be responsible for cleaning their own room and communal areas and washing their own clothes and dishes. All cleaning equipment, including a broom and vacuum cleaner, is provided for shared use in each property. If cleanliness standards are not maintained PUIC reserves the right to bring in contract cleaners the cost of which will be passed on to the students.

PUIC has a preferential arrangement with Clever Student Lets, a University approved provider of student accommodation in Plymouth, who will provide quality accommodation to suit your budget. Accommodation ranges from standard house size comprising 4 or 5 rooms to larger accommodation blocks with up to 40+ rooms. All accommodation provided through Clever Student Lets has all utilities and free internet included in the rental price.
Accommodation provided through Clever Student Lets is in a variety of locations, but all are within a short walk (up to 20 minutes) from the college.
Dependent on the type of accommodation arranged, contracts can be on a two semester basis in line with your period of study or may be for the full year (as is normal practice for student accommodation in the UK) which will mean you will have somewhere to live in-between your study semesters. Details of this can be discussed on your arrival and it will be your decision which type of contract you enter in to. However, you should be aware that the contract is between you and Clever Student Lets so seek advice from PUIC student support before signing the contract if you are unsure which will suit you best.

Alternatively, you may wish to arrange your own accommodation by sharing with relatives or friends who are already in Plymouth. You will find a number of student accommodation providers on the web through whom you may be able to book accommodation.
PUIC provides a 24/7 emergency phone number for any urgent or serious situations that may arise, such as illness, accidents, and so on. Student Support staff are available during office hours for any queries you may have relating to your accommodation or rental lease.
Students can purchase a bedding pack containing duvet and cover, pillow and pillow case and fitted sheet for £30 which you can pay for and collect at PUIC. Additional bedding required can be purchased for a few pounds in the local stores.
