At PUIC you have the opportunity to study the following:
An Undergraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages (Stages 1-4) of study which on successful completion results in the award of a Bachelor Degree from Plymouth University.
The University Foundation is Stage 1 of the Undergraduate Pathway.
The transition from high school to university is a big step, perhaps the most important in your life. Our University Foundation is carefully designed with this in mind. The staff at PUIC will provide you with ongoing guidance and support as well as the necessary knowledge and skills; it is this partnership between you and the staff that will make this transition much smoother.
The First Year Degree is Stage 2 of the Undergraduate Pathway.
You will experience the first year curriculum of Plymouth University degree, but in smaller class sizes* and with extra academic contact hours. The teaching and learning experience will enable you to fully develop your knowledge and understanding of each module to prepare you for Stage 3 (the second year of your chosen degree) and Stage 4 (the final year of your degree pathway).
Second Year Degree and Final Year Degree Taught at Plymouth University and comprise of Stages 3 and 4 of the Undergraduate Pathway.
* Relates to non-integrated pathway options such as Business.
A Postgraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of two stages of study. When you successfully complete the pathway you will be awarded a Masters Degree from Plymouth University.
The Pre-Masters course is Stage 1 of the Postgraduate Pathway and can be either one or two semesters in duration. It has been designed to prepare international students who have not qualified for direct entry to Plymouth University's Masters Degrees, including the MSc Business and Management and MSc Tourism and Hospitality Management.
Undertaking a Pre-Masters course will provide you with the time to adjust to the rigorous research and independent study requirements of postgraduate studies and prepare you to get the most out of your Masters degree at the university.
Taught at Plymouth University and comprises Stage 2 of the Postgraduate Pathway.
English Language is a full-time course specifically designed for international students who need to improve their level of English before starting undergraduate or postgraduate academic studies.
The English Language course suits students with different levels of English competence and is offered by PUIC on the University's main campus. To successfully complete the course you need to attend a minimum of 90% of the classes and obtain a minimum pass mark of 50% in your assessments.
You can start an English Language course in September, January or May.
